Second visit to CaixaForum
On the last 21st Of December, we went to visit two artistic exhibitions of CaixaForum in Barcelona. Before it, I go to each exhibition's website with the main proposal for informing me about both presentations. What I expect more was the Art and Myth exhibition because I have always loved classical art and its history. Otherwise, I expected a good exhibition the one which was about Dracula.
Space description of each room:
First of all, we entered the exhibition called: Vampirs, l'evolució del mite. In the vampire room, everything was quite closed and was distributed in different rooms. The first one was the largest and gave the entrance. In the room mentioned, there were different holographic images of vampires. Besides, we observed different pictures of vampires, dresses related to their time, and at the end of the visit (the last space) was dedicated more to the cinema and the writing of vampires. There was also a room where there was a movie about vampires and finally one with a mirror to see you as a vampire.
Regarding the space colours of the Vampires' exhibition, there were dark colours and I feel afraid, scare, strange, etc.
As the distribution of the second exhibition, we could observe it as a kind of scheme with a genealogical tree of the gods. Suddenly, we found paintings and sculptures related to classical art (Greece and Rome). This exhibition I felt was more open due to its brighter colours, such as white, grey, blue, etc.
A personal reflection about the artistic proposal:
As I said previously, I have researched some information to get better informed while I was visiting the museum. When I read all of this information, I realized that I would like more the second exhibition about Art and Myth, but finally, I found very interesting both. Talking about Vampire's exhibition I like a lot how it was distributed and the environment of the room. I was feeling that I was on the Vampire's times. The interaction with the movies, pictures, books was very interesting. With this topic, I think that it would be more difficult to introduce in the primary classroom, but I think that through histories and some photography of the exhibition would be adapted by projects or teamwork by pupils of the classroom.
In the second exhibition, I was like a child. As I said before, I have always been interested in all Greek and Rome's art. The artistic proposal which I like the most was Passionate Love and the guide explains to us about its history and design I found it very interesting. This artistic topic I would definitely introduce in my classroom as it is easier to create an artistic space in class around the Myths' topic.
