VISIT TO MESEUM

EXHIBITION OF ENERGY: MUSEU NACIONAL DE LA CIÈNCIA I TÈCNICA DE CATALUNYA

After visiting the "Una mirada a l'espai" exhibition, we wanted to visit more exhibitions of the museum and finally, we started with the principal one of the museum: "L'energia"

The exhibition Enérgeia offers a journey through different sources of energy as the driving force for human activity and industrialisation. An exhibition on energy, the essential driving force of industrialisation, serving to explain the importance of how sources of energy have been used over the years.

In order better to explain the concepts, the exhibition includes historical artefacts such as the Fontaine turbine, steam engines, a huge switch, models such as the Vapor Vell de Sants, experiments known as "yellow points" ranging from the inclined plane used in turbines, to experiments with electricity, most notably the demonstrations of Faraday's Cage. The exhibition also features a number of audiovisual displays. (Museu de la ciència, 2012)

When we were at the exhibition, a guided person explained to us about the different areas which are muscle power, steam and coal, water and wind, electricity, planetary energy and gas and oil. Regarding the distribution, it can be followed in a good way as it has a conductive thread in which the people can appreciate properly all the explanations and interactive activities.

This exhibition is the first one that you can find when you enter the museum. It has good lighting from the outside doors.
